Store burglar sentenced to 3 years in prison


Juan Cisneros Juan Cisneros The Willacy County and District Attorney’s Office announced today that Juan Cisneros, 35, of Raymondville, TX was sentenced to 3 years in prison for Burglary of a Building. On June 2, 2014, the Raymondville Police Department was dispatched to Ed’s Quick Stop in Raymondville. Upon arrival, the officer observed the kitchen door to the east side of the building forced open. Surveillance video at the store showed a male subject wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and sandals grab the cash register and yank it from the wall. The video also indicated that the suspect took 2 packs of cigarettes from underneath the counter and exited the store. The officer was able to identify the suspect as Cisneros due to prior encounters. While patrolling, the officer observed the defendant exiting a small shed. Upon contact by the officer, the defendant looked surprised and was sweating heavily. The officer also observed in plain sight parts of the cash register. The defendant was arrested without incident. The District Attorney’s Office would like to thank the Raymondville Police Department for their participation in this case. The case was prosecuted by District Attorney Bernard Ammerman and the First Assistant DA Chuck Mattingly.
