LUBINA NARANJO BALDIVIA

RAYMONDVILLE- Lubina Naranjo Baldivia, 95, of Raymondville, Texas passed away peacefully at Veranda Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Harlingen, Texas on April 14, 2017. She was born to the late Pedro and Inez Naranjo on March 14, 1922.

Mrs. Baldivia was a very humble, loving and compassionate person. She believed whole-heartily in her Lady of Guadalupe, Virgin Mother of the True God, especially during the many years when the family traveled far distances to migrate in the fields. She’d pray for their safety and a safe return each year. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilt making, crocheting and most of all cooking for her whole family. “Pansa llena, corazon content.” We will dearly miss her many “dichos” (wise sayings) that are full of wisdom, love and so true even today!

Her legacy is her six children, her 32 grandchildren, 80 greatgrandchildren and her 102 greatgreat grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Juan Baldivia, Sr; they were married for 63 years. Also her son Ernesto Baldivia, grandson Eliseo Baldivia, granddaughter Norma Baldivia, great grandsons Carlos Hernandez, Jacob Montez, Joshua Montez, and great granddaughter Nicole Brummett.

Mrs. Baldivia is survived by her three sons, Efrain (Guillermina) Baldivia, Sr., Ruben Baldivia, Jose Juan (Angelica P.) Baldivia, Jr., and 2 daughters, Herminia (Agustin†) Montez, Ofelia (Mateo, Jr.†) Trevino.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Ruben Baldivia, Jr., Baldemar Baldivia, Daniel Baldivia, Efrain Baldivia, Jr., Johnny Montez and great grandson, Tyrone Arguelles; Honorary pallbearer is Jason Montez.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Duddlesten Funeral Home with a holy rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 693 N. 3rd, Raymondville, Texas. Interment will follow in the Raymondville Memorial Cemetery.

With grateful and appreciative hearts, our family is very thankful to the staff at Veranda Rehabilitation Healthcare, CIMA Healthcare and Calidad Home Health. Your compassion, patience and care of our mother the past eight years have been overwhelming.

“A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones” Proverbs 15:30
