VIVIANA FLORES placed first/gold in the 2017 International Powerlifting Federation World Junior and Sub-Junior Women’s Championships held in Orlando, Florida from August 28-September 3, 2017. Her weight category is 84+. For squat she lifted 265 kg/628.3 lbs., bench press was 145 kg/319.7 lbs., and deadlift was 175 kg/385.8 lbs. She is attending Texas A&M University in College Station majoring in Community Health. She plans to further her education by attending nursing school.

Her mother is Olivia Garza of Raymondville, her grandparents are Otila Garza of Raymondville and the late Sabas Garza, Jr. Her uncles, Sabas Garza, III of Pleasanton, TX and Ricardo Garza of Raymondville, her aunt, Lupita Garza of Harlingen, and her cousin, Maria F. Garza, of Helotes, TX attended the competition.
